Liquity — Weekly Wrap Up #15
Kolten Bergeron
September 6, 2021
Welcome to the Weekly Wrap Up, a weekly series where I go over all of the highlights in the Liquity ecosystem. This issue covers the week of 8/30–9/5.
What is Liquity? Liquity is a decentralized borrowing protocol that allows you to draw 0% interest loans against Ether used as collateral. Learn more.
System Overview
Total LUSD supply has been increasing since late July, with a sharp increase towards late August leading into early September. As market conditions continue to show favorable signs, we’ve seen just over >20M LUSD minted so far in the first six days of September.
Most of that minting came on September 2, where 15M LUSD was minted, but the other days highlight how big the appetite for leverage has been since ETH resumed its journey back to all time highs.
The Curve LUSD 3Pool is also continuing to eat into the Stability Pool’s market share — a positive sign for LUSD’s maturity. With the launch of LUSD’s Chainlink price feed, we expect the Stability Pool to shrink further as LUSD becomes accessible across various other markets and opportunities in DeFi.
Integrations
LUSD’s Chainlink price feed is now live on Ethereum mainnet. This opens up LUSD for integrations with money markets such as Aave, Compound, CREAM, and Rari. More info here.
ICYMI: Liquity is live on Instadapp. Users can now open Troves, deposit to the Stability Pool, and stake LQTY through the Instadapp interface. Instadapp Trove owners will also receive INST rewards based on the size of their Trove. Get started here.
ICYMI: DeFi Saver now allows users to create a leveraged Liquity Trove in one transaction. Just enter the ETH amount, set the leverage level, and create. Learn more.
