Liquity — Weekly Wrap Up #17
Derrick Nguyen
October 11, 2021
Welcome to the Weekly Wrap Up, a weekly series where we go over all of the highlights within the Liquity ecosystem. This issue covers the week of 10/4–10/11.
What is Liquity? Liquity is a decentralized borrowing protocol that allows you to draw 0% interest loans against Ether used as collateral. Learn more.
System Overview
Last month, we saw a sudden shift in market sentiment as ETH quickly went from ~$3900 to ~$2800 — this didn’t last long. ETH has already rallied back up to ~$3600 within the last 14 days, and yet another shift in market sentiment is taking shape as users are starting to borrow LUSD again.
Back in May Liquity hit its first all-time-high Troves count of 1,132. Shortly after that milestone was reached, the flash-crash on 5/19 and bearish market conditions wiped out a large amount of Troves. As you can see above, the Trove count has consistently grown since then and we’ve finally hit a new all-time-high at 1135 Troves! 🎉
Besides the good news on Liquity’s growth, the protocol and LUSD has gained relevance elsewhere: OlympusDAO. Around three weeks ago, LUSD bonds went live and have dominated their reserve bond volume since then — attracting $28M of LUSD in this short amount of time! This already accounts for 4.6% of the LUSD supply 👀
But the collaboration with OlympusDAO doesn’t stop there. On Oct. 6 we launched an incentivized LUSD / OHM pool (details below) that has quickly attracted almost $17M in liquidity.
Integrations
LUSD bonds are now live, which allows users to buy OHM at a discount with LUSD. Utilize bonds here.
B.Protocol has launched additional BPRO liquidity mining incentives on top of their Stability Pool integration. Learn how to deposit here.
Hats Finance has launched a Liquity Vault, which offers a continuous bug bounty for Liquity. Learn more here.
InsurAce.io now offers insurance for Liquity users. Learn about it here.
A co-incentivized LUSD/OHM Sushiswap pool is now live. Participants will earn LQTY, OHM, and MIST. Announcement here.
